This book starts in the Paris World Fair. Delcan and his wife get on a hot air balloon. his wife goes into labor and Conor is born. Then they move to the Saltee islands where a king named Nicholas takes control over. They live peace fully. Conor starts building his glider with a man named Victor. One day there is a fire and Conor is trapped with the king's princess in the tower. Conor gets his glider and get Isabella the king's daughter and flies down the tower so they can be safe. After that happens there is a man named Marshall who wants to take over the islands. For that he kills the king and Victor. Later he puts the blame on Conor. Conor goes to prison and is in a cell with a man named Linus. Linus is from the USA and Linus is blind. In the prison it is said that if they let you go out free that you die.Linus is sent free but Conor thinks that he is dead. Later Conor convinces people to get him things so that he can escape. Conor leaves and goes to London. In London he finds Linus who wasn't killed. Then Conor improves his flying machine and goes to the Saltee islands and gets back together with Isabella. Conor plans to go to college and kisses Isabella for the first time. finally he asks Linus if he can see the future and Linus says yes. Conor is mostly a teenager in this book. He lives in the Saltee islands. Conor lived with his parents. Conor disagreed to problems that were against him like who killed the king and Victor. Conor is smart because he builds a flying machines. Conor likes to avoid it and solve it to clean his name. this book has a villain named Marshall who kills the king and Victor. This book was average because it had pretty hard words that i didn't understand. The book was predictable because Linus kept giving advice and it always happens.
