King Solomon's Mines


The main character of this book is an adventurer and hunter named Allan Quatermain. Allan who was approached by Sir Henry Curtis and his friend Captain Good, looking for allan to help them find Sir Henry's brother, who was last seen going north to a place that no one has every been to. Sir Henry brother was looking for King Solomon's Mines. Allan has a map that is supposed to lead them to the mines. However, he agrees to lead them but they would have to share the treasure with him , or a a payment for his son if he is killed. He does not thing that they will return alive, but he said that he has already lived longer than the people his age, so dying in this way at least means that his son will be provided for with the money . On their way the take a Native American named Umbopa, who seems more fearless,and speaks better than his friends and people and is very excited to join the journey. They Travel by an oxcart, on their way they reach the edge of a desert so the got of the oxcart and walk across the desert, they almost die because of thirst and so they kept gong but before they found the oasis which was shown their map they reach a mountain range called Suliman Berg, they climb the mountain and found a cave and in the cave they found a frozen body a man Jose Silvestra, this man was Portuguese explorer who drew a map leading to King Solomon's Mines . That night someone else dies from the cold, so they left his body next to Jose's body.
On their way they capture a lady name Gagool who took them to King Solomon's Mines and they do find the Mines. They take plenty of mines with them and while going back the way they came they found Sir Henry's brother laying in the oasis with one of his legs broken at the end Allan does not die so thats a good thing.
