Your first reading challenge post

All of your posts for the reading challenge must include the name of the book, its author and the number of pages. Your first reading challenge post should be a summary of the first book that you read.  Make sure that your summary tells who the main characters are, the setting of the book and the main conflict of the story.   I will respond in the comments section so make sure that you answer my follow up questions!

Listen to the Wind by Greg Mortenson

Listen to the Wind is the story of Greg Mortenson and the people of Korphe, Pakistan.  Greg became lost while climbing the mountain K2.  He stumbled into the town of Korphe where he was taken care of by its people. Dr. Greg wanted to do something to thank everyone so he promised to build the children a school. Dr. Greg raised the money for a school but they had to built a bridge first. In the end the village of Korphe celebrated the new school with Dr. Greg.  He went on to build over 100 schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
